Local Transportation
The beauty of Kvitneset cottage is that is surrounded by pure nature, ocean, mountains and woods. It is not in the middle of any transportation hub. Definitely you will be more comfortable if you have your own car or at least a bicycle. However there are some options for those cases when you prefer to use public transport.The closest transportation hub is Hareid, 6 km (4 miles) from Kvitneset. There are frequent ferry and bus services from there around the area. The nearest bus stop is in the centre of Brandal, 2 km (1.3 miles) from the house. There 2 to 4 buses during weekdays but there is no service on weekends and holidays. You can see here the detailed schedule of buses and here is the return schedule. Taxi from Hareid to Kvitneset is about 100 NKr ($15) for up to 6 passengers. The taxi station is at the ferry and bus terminal or you can call +47 70 09 24 93.
Express boat provides an excellent connection from Hareid to Ǻlesund. This is a nice 20 to 25 minutes journey. It runs from 6.00 in the morning till midnight almost every hour.
